Acknowledgments
This book would not have been possible without the effort of a number
of people and the financial support of several organizations. The editors
would like to thank Sebastian Schich and Angelique Servin from the
Secretariat for the Committee on Financial Markets (CMF) at the OECD.
Financial support for the Symposium was provided by the Warwick
Legal Research Institute; the Centre for Commercial Law and Financial
Regulation, University of Reading Law School; the Centre for Financial
& Management Studies and the School of Oriental and African Studies
(SOAS), University of London; and, Patterson & LaBrosse Financial
Consultants Ltd.
The chapters were drawn from papers delivered at the Third Banking
Law Symposium. We are grateful and thank all of the speakers, presenters
and discussants for their contributions and participation. The moderators
did a superb job and the observations and questions from the attendees at
the Symposium helped to improve the focus of our work.
We also acknowledge the efforts of Ben Booth, our commissioning
editor, from Edward Elgar Law and the administrative team behind
our institutions who helped us in the organisation and development of
the event, including among others Anna Denby, Anne Perkins, Rahima
Begun and Jane Savory.
John Raymond LaBrosse would like to thank his mother, Frances, and
Gail, Scott, Kendra and Conrad for their patience, love and support. He
would also like to thank his long-time friend and colleague Jim McCollum
for his help beyond the call of duty in acting as the Rapporteur to the Third
Banking ...
