This chapter aims to shed light on the interlinked elements which govern the way the mitigation effects of managing biospheres and wood are included in the legislative framework of both international and the EU’s domestic climate policies. This chapter will not discuss the adaptation aspects but focus on the legal framework for mitigation policies related to agriculture and forestry in the international climate negotiations and in the acquis communautaire.
