Author(s): Yamamoto, Aiichiro
Number of pages: 6
Abstract/Description:
The post-2015 global development framework is very likely to embrace both poverty reduction trajectories and a post-Rio road map for sustainable development which is all about how to harmonize growth and climate change; in other words, how to secure climate financing and development financing in mutually complementary ways. From the development perspectives, coping with climate change will significantly benefit vulnerable populations and protect them from loss of life and assets. Thus, the role of ODA and development agencies in climate financing and measures is crucial to complement private financing and investment on climate compatibility in Asia and beyond.
