Gabriele Abels holds the Jean Monnet Chair for comparative politics and
European integration at the Institute of Political Science, University of
Tübingen, Germany. Her research interests are European integration, theo-
ries of European integration, role of parliaments in the EU, political par-
ticipation, biotechnology regulation, food safety policy and gender studies.
John P. Burns is Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Chair
Professor of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Hong
Kong, China. Burns researches public administration in China, including
Hong Kong, focusing on civil service reform, party-government relations,
public policy and governance issues.
Federica Casarosa is Research Fellow at the Centre for Judicial
Cooperation at the European University Institute, Department of Law,
Florence, Italy. She has worked as a consultant for FAO and as a Jean
Monnet Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies. Her
research interests focus on private regulation in the food sector and new
media law and regulation.
Donal Casey is Lecturer in Law at the University of Kent, Canterbury,
UK. His research interests lie in the area of food regulation and in the
issues of legitimacy and accountability. His research has been published
in the European Law Journal, the Journal of Law and Society, and
Regulation & Governance.
Neil Collins is Dean of the Graduate School of Public Policy, Nazarbayev
University, Kazakhstan. He is a past president of the Political Studies
Association of Ireland and a former Centennial Scholar at the American
Political Science Association in Washington ...
