Catherine E. Bell is a Professor of Law at the University of Alberta,
Canada specialising in Indigenous rights, property law and collaborative
legal research. She is widely published including: First Nations Cultural
Heritage and Law: Case Studies Voices and Perspectives (UBC Press
2008, with Val Napoleon) and Protection of First Nation Cultural
Heritage: Laws, Policy and Reform (UBC Press 2008, with Robert K.
Paterson). Her current research focuses on Métis constitutional rights and
Indigenous and Canadian law and policy in cultural heritage. She is a
co-investigator on an international interdisciplinary research collaboration
with Indigenous peoples concerning intellectual property issues in cul-
tural heritage (www.sfu.ca/ipinch) and a national project on Métis rights
in Canada (www.metistreatiesproject.ca).
Michael Blakeney is Winthrop Professor, University of Western Aus-
tralia and Visiting Professor in IP and Agriculture, Queen Mary Univer-
sity of London. He formerly worked in the Asia Pacific Bureau at the
World Intellectual Property Organization. His latest books (published by
Edward Elgar) are: Intellectual Property Enforcement. A Commentary on
the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) (2012) and The Protec-
tion of Geographical Indications. Law and Practice (2014).
Dan L. Burk is Chancellor's Professor of Law at the University of
California, Irvine, where he teaches courses in patent law, copyright and
related topics. An internationally prominent authority on issues of high
technology, he is the author of numerous papers on the legal and societal
impact of new technologies, including articles on Internet regulation,
biotechnology patenting, ...
