Mercédeh Azeredo da Silveira is an attorney specialising in international arbitration,
and a member of the Geneva (Switzerland) and Paris (France) Bars. She represents
corporate entities and governments before arbitral tribunals in both commercial and
investment arbitration proceedings. She holds an LLM from Columbia Law School and
a PhD from the University of Geneva Faculty of Law. Dr Azeredo da Silveira is the
author of Trade Sanctions and International Sales An Inquiry into International
Arbitration and Commercial Litigation, which was published by Kluwer Law Inter-
national in 2014 and was awarded the Professor Walther Hug Prize in 2015. She is also
the author of a series of publications in the areas of international arbitration,
international trade, contracts, economic sanctions and mediation. She is regularly
invited to speak at conferences and has given guest lectures at the University of Geneva
Faculty of Law, Columbia Law School and Fordham School of Law.
Kristen E. Boon is a Professor of Law at Seton Hall Law School and specialises in
public international law and international organisations. Professor Boon acted as Senior
Adviser to the Mission of Jordan at the UN during the 20142015 UN High Level
Sanctions Review. She was also a Senior Visiting Adviser at the International Peace
Institute in 2013, when she coordinated the publication of an implementation manual
