Abstract/Description:
This chapter seeks to explore the relevance of the right to health to global health law. It examines both the philosophical justification for the right to health and the meaning of this right under international law. It seeks to draw out and highlight the intersections and opportunities for engagement between the field of global health law and the right to health. It also offers some reflections on the consequences of a human rights based approach to health for the conceptualisation of health issues and the process by which global health law should be designed and delivered.
