Contributors Salima Ahmadou is a Moroccan national and MA student in Development Studies at the International Institute of Social Studies, Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She has ample experience working with civil society organisations focusing on gender, youth, social movements and democratisation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Zeineb Alsabeehg is a young political scientist. She received her BA and MA in Political Science from the University of Oslo. Her fields of interest are the Middle East with an emphasis on the Gulf region, the Arab Uprisings, citizenship and statelessness. She engages with nongovernmental organisations (NGOs) for the cause of human rights in Bahrain, and she writes in the Norwegian press about the situation in Bahrain and the Gulf. Her contribution to this book is based on her MA thesis, From Citizen to Non-Existent: A Study of Bahrain's Politics of Citizenship (2017). Zahra Babar is Associate Director for Research at the Center for International and Regional Studies at Georgetown University in Qatar. Her current research interests include migration and citizenship in the Persian Gulf states.
