Publisher: Edward Elgar Publishing
Section: ARTICLE 1
Section Title: SCOPE OF APPLICATION
Number of pages: 4
Abstract/Description:
This chapter defines the personal scope of application of the CRC: who is a child for the purposes of the Convention? It clarifies that no minimum age has been set, and that the upper age limit of 18 is qualified by a reference to national legislation that provides for a lower age of majority. The chapter also discusses the issue of childhood more generally, as well as the differentiation between age groups.
