Abstract/Description:

This chapter provides commentary on art. 51 of the CRC on a communications procedure. The chapter discusses the negotiation history, general conditions and principles and the specificities of different procedures established under the protocol (including individual complaints, inter-state complaints and an inquiry procedure). Particular attention is paid to the status of economic, social and cultural rights, as well as on an evaluation of the OP.
