Abstract/Description:
This chapter aims to understand the causes of the divergence between Latvian domestic and international arbitration. Several analytical perspectives are engaged to cognize the development of the law. First, a teleological examination is conducted by tracing the historical evolution of the law. Second, Latvia’s seminal investor-state arbitration experiences are examined for any identifiable spillovers of domestic legal tradition. Lastly, current trends are examined to assess the direction of the current trajectory.
