Niels Bammens is Professor of Tax Law at KU Leuven (Belgium) and of counsel to EY Tax
Consultants (FSO Tax, Brussels). His research interests mainly concern the principle of non-
discrimination in international and European tax law, the interaction between international and
European tax law and the relevance of tax treaties for developing countries.
Gianluigi Bizioli is Professor of Tax Law and International and EU Tax Law at the
Department of Law of the University of Bergamo. He also teaches tax law at the Accademia
della Guardia di Finanza in Bergamo. After receiving a Masters degree in Economics and
Business Administration from the University of Bergamo and in Law from the University of
Padova, he obtained his PhD in International and Comparative Tax Law from the University of
Genova. He is a member of the Board of Professors of the PhD Program in Business and Law
of the University of Bergamo and co-Director of the Rivista di Diritto Finanziario e Scienza
delle Finanze. He is the author of three books and more than 80 articles, especially in the field
of constitutional tax law and European and International tax law. Since 2018, he is the Italian
member of the Academic Committee of the European Association of Tax Law Professors.
Furthermore, since 1 October 2018, he is of counsel at the Italian practice of PwC Tax and
Legal Services.
