Section Title: Life and the law in the era of machine agency
Author(s): Hildebrandt, Mireille
Number of pages: 12
Abstract/Description:
In this final chapter Mireille Hildebrandt responds to the wealth of ideas and arguments that are presented in this volume. In the first part she investigates the ends that many of the authors have argued for as befitting the era of machine agency: seamful environments endowed with ‘apparency’ and pragmatic transparency. In the second part she will investigate what new beginnings this may require, balancing innovation with conservation, based on a precautionary approach to data-driven agency.
