The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title

This Act is the National Housing Finance and Investment
7
Corporation (Consequential Amendments and Transitional
8
Provisions) Act 2018.

(1) Each provision of this Act specified in column 1 of the table

commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with

1 Decisions not to be made before a particular day
3
(1)
The NHFIC must not, before:
4
(a) the day determined under subitem (2); or
5
(b) if no such determination is in force--the later of:
6
(i) 1 July 2018; or
7
(ii) the day occurring 3 months after the day this Act
8
commences;
9
make a decision to:
10
(c) make a loan, investment or grant; or
11
(d) grant financial assistance to a State or Territory; or
12
(e) provide, to registered community housing providers (within
13
the meaning of the National Housing Finance and Investment
14
Corporation Act 2018), business advisory services and other
15
assistance in capacity building.
16
(2)
The Minister may, by legislative instrument, determine a day for the
17
purposes of this item. The day must not be a day occurring earlier than
18
1 July 2018.
