Victorian Numbered Acts Victorian Numbered Acts(1) The appointment of a person as a justice of the peace that is in force immediately before the commencement day is, on and after that day, taken to be an appointment under section 7 and continues until the person ceases to hold office under section 10.
(2) A person who, immediately before the commencement day, holds the office of justice of peace under section 115(5)(b) of the Magistrates' Court Act 1989 is, on and after that day, taken to be appointed under section 7 and continues to hold that office for the period of 12 months from that day unless the person ceases to hold office under section 10.
(3) Section 24 does not apply to a person referred to in subsection (2).
