Victorian Numbered Acts Victorian Numbered Acts(1) A person to whom an attachment of earnings order is directed must not fail to comply with the order.
Penalty: 60 penalty units or 6 months imprisonment or both.
(2) It is a defence to a charge under sub-section (1) for the person charged to prove that the person took all reasonable steps to comply with the order.
(3) Nothing in sub-section (1) affects the powers of the Court or the Supreme Court in relation to contempt of court.
