Victorian Numbered Acts Victorian Numbered Acts(1) A person immediately ceases to be a security patient if—
(a) the person's sentence of imprisonment or detention in a prison or other place of confinement expires; or
(b) the Court Secure Treatment Order to which the person was subject expires; or
(c) the person is granted bail; or
(d) a court releases the person from custody; or
(e) an order has been made under section 74 of the Corrections Act 1986 that the person be released on parole and the time for release has occurred.
(2) The Secretary to the Department of Justice must notify the authorised psychiatrist as soon as practicable of the date on which a security patient's sentence of imprisonment or detention is to expire.
