COMPENSATION LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 2016 (NO. 73 OF 2016) - SECT 20

After section 623E of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 insert —

        " 623F     Transitional provision—Compensation Legislation Amendment Act 2016

    (1)         In this section, "commencement date" means the day on which section 11(2) of the Compensation Legislation Amendment Act 2016 comes into operation.

    (2)     A person to whom section 169 applied immediately before the commencement date is, on and from the commencement date, entitled to weekly payments under this Act for whichever of the following is the longer period—

        (a)     the first 130 weeks (whether consecutive or not) of incapacity for work; or

        (b)     until the day the person reaches retirement age.".
