Victorian Numbered Acts Victorian Numbered Acts(1) In section 87(1) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 omit ", government vessel or hire and drive vessel".
(2) After section 87(2) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 insert —
"(2A) The master of a recreational hire and drive vessel must not operate the vessel at a speed or in a manner which is dangerous to the public, having regard to all the circumstances in the case.
Penalty: 240 penalty units or imprisonment for 2 years.
(2B) Subsection (2A) does not apply to a person who is complying with a requirement under the Marine Safety (Domestic Commercial Vessel) National Law.".
(3) In section 87(3) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 omit ", government vessel or hire and drive vessel".
(4) In section 87(4) of the Marine Safety Act 2010
, for ", government vessel or" substitute
"or recreational".
